Tillie Wynott: in most cases a Haynes manual from Advance Auto, Autozone, or O Rielly's is your best bet. You don't need to have schooling to change timing belts. Just a good DIY or manual, the right tools, and some time. Its pretty easy on most cars as long as you can time an engine and have time to deal with all the little stupid things that happen.
Raymundo Kyser: chiltons manuel is better than hanes more infomaition an a book for each spicic car you work on try to take a small eng book an once you figer that out aplay same thery to all eng just more cylenders take a old lawn morer motor apart an see an put it back to gather see if runs before you start taking cares motor apart an get lost
Carter Dewater: Thank you everyone. I appreciate it. I will be buying a Haynes and a Chiltons and will be doing online research as well. God bless!
Adan Alipio: haynes is fine...
Coleman Petropoulos: I think Chilton manuals are the best. They are not ! always easy to find though. You might have to go to Amazon to find one. I prefer Chilton to Haynes because the Chilton manuals seem to be more detailed. If you are buying a manual for a vehicle that you will own for a while, there is nothing wrong with getting both. They only cost $15-$20 each. You will save that much money the first time you change your own radiator hose.
Byron Fortmann: Try checking the car bible site (http://www.carbibles.com/) and Auto zine (http://www.autozine.org/technical_school/tech_inde...I prefer factory maintenance books, because some times Haynes tells you to take it to a mechanic.
Lawanna Livsey: I recommend factory repair manual, its the best, particularly on body tasks like taking the doors apart. Chilton's usually has a decent amount of detail and covers a great majority of the repairs while the Haynes manual comes from the perspective of someone who has torn down the car and is giving you more advice.
Sol Allphin: Auto Rep! air For Dummies by Deanna Sclar at http://www.GreenTextbooks.! com
Sammie Bocanegra: I prefer if I can, a specific Chassis Manual published by the manufacturer for the year and model. I had one for my '88 Cadillac Brougham. Cost $125 but well worth it. Sorry I don't remember the company I went through. They are in Michigan and carry most every year and every model, completely.
Stanton Villao: i've got continually like the Haynes manuals the terrific. production unit restore manuals are great high priced and don't continually clarify the least confusing way. i've got have been given a 2004 Caviler. can no longer look to fantastic the two the Haynes or Chilton manuals for this motor vehicle. ask your self why? The Chevrolet manuals fee 3 hundred funds they are 2 of them and that they do no longer grant very sparkling motives. occasion: interior the shop handbook dealing with the chassis they reported you will possibly desire to get rid of the entire rear bumper assembly to replace an air vent placed interior the trunk, all yo! u will possibly desire to do is attain under and get rid of it. to replace opposite the technique. of direction in case you are the broker there is greater earnings dismantling than in basic terms accomplishing under and around....Show more
