car insurance in Florida?

Lillie Yarde: No. I, personally, have written a Florida auto insurance policy to cover Florida plates, for someone that has a second residence in Florida, and a primary residence in another state. They had a license in the other state, and they ALSO had car insurance in that other state. BUT. If you don't have another car in another state, with another insurance policy for that state, no one is going to give you a FL insurance policy, if you're LIVING in FL full time, without a FL license.If you DO have two residences, you'll have to find an insurance company - like Chubb - that can write auto policies in both your home state, and FL, and they will likely do it for you.
