Patricia Bolduc: Only child support, IRS, Federal student loans or other Federally backed loans.If the only money in your bank account is from social security, they also cannot attach that account. However, if any other funds are the account, they can attach all it.
Brittney Inabnit: Absolutely not!!!! Only government offices can reduce the amount of your SS checks. Credit card companies can't even debit your checking/savings account. Anything coming out of your bank account has to be approved by you by your signature no matter who it is, even the irs! Your SS checks comes from the government so I really don't know how credit card companies could tell the government to take out money for them before your check is printed anyways!
