Sylvie Snetting: It depends what your TV source is.These days, people record TV with HDD based DVRs or DVD recorders. If you have a cable or satellite service, you probably can get a DVR from them. If you have antenna or analog cable, you can get standalone DVRs or DVD recorders. Many of them can also record from a cable or satellite box in SD.You can get a PCI or USB tuner card for your PC, which can record from antenna, cable, or a provider's box.Most of the antenna cable recorders likely can tune digital channels (they have to by law in some places, like the USA).I am mentioning TiVo as a side note.They have two core models now, the Series 2 DT which does analog cable and/or a cable or satellite box, and the TiVo HD, which does analog and digital antenna and cable, in HD as well.
