Leticia Laiben: I would suggest the Pioneer 1017. It has the features you want and has features that are in much more expensive recievers. It also will convert all video signals to HDMI so you can use only one cable to your TV. It is available at big box stores like Best Buy.
Willa Holte: yeah, that's the most general home theater receiver out there. options you should be looking for: 2+ HDMI inputs, 80+ Watts of High Current power, HDMI UP~Conversion, 7.1 output(which is common). All that said, the overachiever this year in the price point you're looking for is the Onkyo TX-SR605. This is a $500 receiver that gives you all you'll need. It's so popular that Onkyo is having a hard time keeping up with demand.
Charline Granes: you pretty much touched on your average all-in-one receiver that is selling in the general market from most brands from denon to sony.
