Sook Hershkowitz: Here is a very easy way to make a brochure-type document using Word. 1) FIrst, change your document to landscape mode. In Word 2007, click the Page Layout tab, then click Orientation, and click Landscape. (In older Word versions, it is under File / Page Setup). The width of your paper is, Iâm assuming, 11 inches. So the center point would be 5.5 inches. 2) Now create a Text Box that covers half of the document. Text boxes are fabulous if you arenât familiar with them! To draw the box in Word 2007, click the Insert Tab, click Text Box, click Draw Text Box, and then use the cursor and draw a rectangle that fits the left half of the document. (In older Word versions, Iâm not sure ... perhaps Insert). To size the text box, click on its outline (when the cursor changes to a cross), place the cursor on a side or corner until you see the 2-sided arrow, press the mouse button and drag. Using the ruler at the top, make sure the text box right mar! gin ends at about 5.1 inches. 3) Create a text box for the right side of the document in the same manner, OR - right-click on the existing text box, click Copy, and then right-click in an empty spot in the document and click Paste. Then drag the second text box over to the right side of the document, making sure the LEFT margin sits at about 5.9 inches. This will give you empty space in the center for the fold. 4) Now type whatever you want inside the text boxes. You can even insert images. Just make sure you donât type past the bottom edge because the overflow will just disappear. Make your font smaller if you need a bit more room. Good luck!...Show more
