Radio over Fiber optics Advantages needed urgently?

Raul Lushbaugh: Fiber optic runs with the aid of a kind of glass fiber cable, so that's do away with darkness from to the node, then that's switched over into sign over copper. In some international places they run fiber precise to the decrease, then that's copper into the abode. i think many US cities will run fiber to the decrease interior the destiny because of the fact interior the long term it saves money, fiber lasts continuously, does not go through a similar shape barriers as copper, and is easy to place in and shelter....Show more

Johnny Sirko: Radio is wireless and mobile. No other.

Vickie Sterbenz: Radio over fiber is used to remote an antenna away from its base station. There are several advantages to using fiber instead of coax. These advantages include performance (longer distances, higher bandwidth), Weight (fiber is much lighter than coax), and overall System costs (depending on system architecture

Raul Lushbaugh: Ridio over fibier optics! can improve the quality of reception http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx?g=posts&t...http://www.toboc.com/forum3/default.aspx?g=posts&t......Show more

Chi Alfero: Radio is a broadcast type, so it can be used by multiple users at once with no formal or physical connection. Radio type systems are pretty standardized so as long as you have the right standards and some hardware it could be used by muliple devices (PCs, printers, phones, pda's, laptops, game systems.....). It can be trasmitted through solid objects like walls and floors and even into other structures or outside. Mobile devices can use it while moving, even at high speed or undefined routes (airplanes for example). Implimentation of such systems is cheaper due to having no wiring and low power requirements. Fiber is a point-to-point system that requires specialized hardware and a physical connection. It requires a stationary sender and receiver and must have a physical, exposed link and canot pe! netrate solid objects without physical openings. A seperate r! oute from sender to receiver must be made for each user, its not a broadcast or "cloud" type mediumThat's all I can think of now, there are several downs to radio vs. fiber but you did not ask them (speed, security, data integrity..)Hope this helps...Show more
