Bob Nakamoto: Currently in a LDR right now.After 12th grade my boyfriend moved states to attend the college of his dreams. how selfish would I be if I told him not to go? so he left and weve been doing long distance for a bout a year and half having dated him for 2 and a half years.It is tough..like seriously, those days where you need your boyfriend who is also your bestfriend come over with a huge tub of icecream and a comedy movie to make your horrible day a little bit better.I got a lot of criticism for being in a LDR and my friend were SO unsupportive. however me and my boyfriend could care less..we realized long distance made us closer..made us appreciate eachothers time and presence and we told ourselves that if god forbid this doesnt work out one day..we will always be bestfriends. Although everything has been working out and we do have some argument! s once in a while but I think with long distance we realized t! hat we actually DO love eachother..however not all LDR couples are the same..some relationships fall apart rather quickly (ive witnessed my friends LDR breakup and it was not pretty) but that might be a sign that true love never conquered and that maybe who you once thought was your loved one really was not. Trust, communication and honesty are the three ingredients to a healthy long distance relationship..without those you are doomed....Show more
